ARKO

Change many thing more than imagination

Arts Council Korea was established to promote creativity and enjoyment of the arts by supporting diverse arts and cultural activities in Korea. The Council consists of eleven dedicated professionals of the culture and arts sector in Korea.

They are responsible for devising arts policies based upon consultation with artists and cultural practitioners as well as for encouraging public involvement, particularly in the decision making process. This structure has helped transform artists from more beneficiaries to legislators and administrators of the policies by increasing their level of involvement.

The Council will continue its efforts to innovate the traditional cultural administrators system to be more responsive and adaptive to the rapidly changing arts and cultural sector. The council is determined to support the establishment of a more culturally sophisticated Korea by facilitating the implementation of practical policies.
